OMG. Jesse has always been an amazing chef, but his colors truly shine through the kitchen at the Guide's Inn! We had Mussel's that were flown in fresh, homemade pasta with shrimp and the most tender steak EVER. OUTSTANDING is the only word to describe out experience. We will be back!

Excellent food quality and fast service, at least early on a November Friday evening when they didn't have many customers in their dining room. The pan fried walleye was excellent, as was the blueberry crisp. Certainly not the lowest priced dining available in this region, but you get a good spread of food for your money, at least in my judgement. They seem to stay open during most of winter and are one of just a few options in town during much of the off-season. The server told me they close during the month of April but are otherwise mostly open.

Brilliant. Absolutely Brilliant. To not work this place into your itinerary as part of your visit to the Northwoods would be a huge miss. The food, service, ambiance is top shelf. Imagine a 5 star restaurant in any major city only transported to the Northwoods- and that is the Guides Inn. A clubby feel, where everyone is allowed to join - with food fit to serve a King. The chef comes out and chats with the guests and you will not leave hungry.

The service and atmosphere were top notch. We enjoyed the spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, baked French onion soup, and the stellar chicken Wellington. What a culinary masterpiece!
